Facebook is developing a messaging system that unifies Business Page inboxes. The integrated inbox would enable Page managers to respond directly to both Facebook and Instagram messages. All from the same inbox.
Currently, Page managers can only respond to direct Facebook messages on the app. Then they would have to login in separately to Instagram to answer messages from there. However, this update would allow Instagram messages to come directly through the Facebook app.
Facebook hopes that the update increases the ease of communication between businesses and customers across both platforms. As businesses have the majority of their customer’s messages in the same place. Thus, replying to a customer should be easier and quicker for businesses.
This is the first step in the planned merger of Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp and Instagram. This merger, announced earlier this month, will see all users be able to send messages to friends and family across the 3 platforms.
Although, this process is still in its development stage we’re excited to see how this function would be presented, and how it could help businesses manage their company pages as well as customer interactions.
